Insurance

At Bishop Eye Center, we understand the complex world of insurance claims and reimbursements can be overwhelming. We participate with the following insurers:

• Medicare

• Blue Cross Blue Shield (non-HMO)

• United Healthcare (HMO requires Referral from PCP)

• Aetna (Ophthalmologists only, HMO requires Referral from PCP)

• Medicare Advantage Plans: BCBS, UHC, Humana, Aetna, Cigna, and Clover

For all other insurances, we will file directly to your insurance for you, but payment is expected the day of your visit. Your insurance company will receive the claim the next business day and will reimburse you directly in accordance with the terms of your plan.

If you need help understanding your insurance coverage, our experienced staff will be glad to help. Just ask.

In addition, for those with high deductibles or no insurance, know that our fees are very reasonable. If you compare our fees with the usual and customary for the Southeast region, we are very generous with our services.

Lastly, for those who may need financial assistance, we are happy to work with you. We just ask that you understand our practice has financial responsibilities to our staff and supporting vendors and lenders. We will do all that is possible.
